Debut solo album by Kendal Eaton. Spokes of a Buckled Wheel is an alternative album that has an industrial ambient rock feel (Bjork - Massive Attack - Portishead).
It shares poignant and sometimes hilarious aspects of mental health experience, from numerous sources, fusing location recordings and poetry with samples shared from an impromptu discussion with members of Manic Depression Fellowship, Burnley 2006, on the unplanned topic - "Do you have to love yourself to be loved?" - and is neither preachy nor self-indulgent.
"...a tremendous achievement. I'm stuck for superlatives. Wonderful production with such subtle touches. You're the south coast Scott Walker." (Keith Rodway - Column 258 / Necessary Animals / Anthony Moore)
"Great album Kendal, tales of journeys and breakthroughs in a fine Mancunian basso profundo… heart-warming stuff." Anthony Moore
